LIFE IN GENERAL

Happy Monday!!
Here's a real post: tad bits and pieces of my life in general.  I thought I'd show you a little bit of the real me... Usually during the week, I don't do a whole lot, I go to the gym, work, yoga, study and I read... (but hopefully I'll add drawing and sewing into the mix).  On the weekends however, "lets get the party started and lets roll!!" I absolutely love to get away and go to the city just for a little bit, even if it means Downtown LA.  Here's some pictures of The Grove and Downtown.  Enjoy!!

NYFW 2012 ALEXANDER WANG

Another one of my all time favorite designers: the Wangster- Alexander Wang. The fact that he's pulling off the rocker/grundge look for fall is truly his androgynous signature.  I love the way he simply added a croc textured jacket and see through prints.  Lovely isn't?  You can never go wrong with too much Wang. :)

NYFW 2012 MATTHEW WILLIAMSON

Yet another designer I've been completely obsessing over.... Matthew Williamson- words cannot even describe his choice of emerald greens and that dark blue turquoise hues!! The eccentric patterns, colors and textured pants: AMAZING....Every look is completely flawless and polished from head to toe.  I mean look at that fur jacket!! eye-gasmic! His pre fall collection is definitely a must have.

NYFW 2012 KATIE GALLAGHER

On Youtube, I subscribe to Nylon TV and they recently showcased Katie Gallagher's Fall 2012 collection.

OMG, I just love her work! She was inspired by the woods and she used moss colored fabics and makeup to emphasis the shrubs and greens she saw while she was growing up.  She said all the dresses sound like leaves when it passes you by and I was so enthused with her work because it utilized both sensory and visual imagery.

LIFE IN GENERAL: LACMA

outfit: Forever 21, H&M, Foreign Exchange
accessories: Guess, Nine West

Weekend at LACMA: Although I'm an avid art lover, I realized I never go to any museums out here in LA...I guess we all take for granted we what have, especially those in close range to us.... a great example: all the museums, beaches, outdoor venues... I live in CA and I rarely venture out!...I will now add "GO to lots of museums" to my TO DO list :)

This past weekend, I went to LACMA to see Ai Weiwei's work before it left CA.  His zodiac sculptures were amazing and I got to take a picture under my "ox" zodiac sign.  Andy Warhol's works were also there and I got gasmic when I saw his famous soup can...Overall, it was a great weekend full of art and inspiration. (I didn't get the chance to visit THE WONDERLAND exhibit but if you've never seen Frida Kahlo's work in real life, this is the chance....the exhibition is going on now until May... so check it out and let me know how it is!)

IRO SPRING/SUMMER 2012

If I could oneday sum up my style into a certain brand, it would definitely be IRO.  I've always been a fan of the French collection just because it looks very accessible, comfortable, chic, yet I'm so cool on the streets type of style.  I really feel in love with this year's Spring/Summer collection because the collection blends well with pastels, light animal prints and the patterns themselves are very light textured, which I love because its not so much of a statement.  I would definitely call it boho meet streetstyle.
