CLASSIC BLK & WHT

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I spent time with the Kim Clan and then a long weekend with my wonderful boyfriend, so I can never be more thankful for my surroundings.  As Christmas is coming closer, I'm beginning to get a little frantic of the Christmas shopping.  I've made my shopping list (and also my wishlist), asked for addresses to DIY some Christmas cards and I'm about to make plans for cozy get togethers.  Did any of you guys start Christmas planning yet? If so, definitely give me some pointers on how to survive the beginnings of Christmas :)

I came across Zara's December lookbook and I was taken away by the simplistic hues of black and white.  Nothing seems more fitting for this winter season.  I mean the coats, leather, simple silhouettes and the accented whites just look fabulous.

IN ROTATION: THE HEELS

HEELS.  I'm one of the girls that will never, ever trade in their heels for anything.  I mean I live in heels.  I wear heels to work, out to lunch, out on dates, out to dinner, when I go grocery shopping... I even run in heels around the office.

In rotation- I've been wearing up my Nine West heels as you can see from the picture above, but I've also been wearing in continuation my nudes and snake printed heels.

MUSEUM OF LATIN AMERICAN ART

ART.  I went through my camera and found some pictures I took a couple months back from the Museum of Latin American Art.  I've only been introduced to Spanish graffiti so when I saw sculptures made by Spanish artists, it was pretty mind blowing.

Since I majored in art, I try to keep myself updated within the art world as much as possible so I can sketch what I see in my mind.  I am "hoping" to launch a tumblr with all my drawings/art work one day, but without any promises, we shall see how how this blog first evolves.

Anyways, I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and if any of you know of upcoming art exhibitions in LA, please let me know :) to a beautiful, more brighter week ahead!

KELLY WEARSTLER - THE COVETEUR

Completely Obsessed.  For a long time now, I've been a true stalker of Kelly Wearstler.  I love looking through her collections as well as her interior designed spaces.  She is one of the very few who can wear any type of jeans and still look absolutely stunning.  She is truly an amazing artist always mixing eclectic pieces with modern sophistication.  I recently stumbled on The Coveteur and saw her amazing home, boutique and closet.  What a beautiful home, I got gasmic when I saw her furnishings!  If you haven't checked it out it, visit: http://www.thecoveteur.com/kelly_wearstler

Hope you guys have a great Thursday!!

HOW ABOUT MIXING W/ PURPLES

(right to left: Revlon Colorstay 260 Bold Sangria, Revlon 917 Plum Seduction, Pure Ice Spit Fire, Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat)

I've been trying to follow fall nail colors for autumn, but I realized I still miss that bright hint of color.  I do my own nails and I paint them twice a week, right before they start to chip.  This week I decided to go purple and magenta.  My all time favorite nail polishes are from Revlon just because its affordable and they have great color payoff.  I also love adding my signature accent on my 4th finger: the glitter nail.

CHINATOWN LA

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.  To start off I wanted to share with you one of my recent travels to downtown LA.   Ryan and I decided to wander the streets of Chinatown because we've never been and it was such a delight!  KCRW's DJ was there spinnin and the whole place was lit up with bright neon lights.  It was such an adventure to us because it was like we entered into another culture when it was actually right down the street from us.  I guess that's the fun of being in LA, its so diverse that you can embrace almost every culture just by driving around.  We didn't get to eat at any of the restaurants, but we are determined to go back and and try some of the seafood restaurants we saw.  If you've been to Chintatown please let me know which restaurants you like and recommend.

Well, I hope everyone enjoys their week.  I'm definitely going to try and blog consistently about everything until I know what I really want to blog about.  My brother keeps telling me blogging is a disciplinary act and that it has to be consistent, meaning I must blog everyday.  Since I work Monday-Friday 8-5 pm, I feel so drained from my creativity it's hard to keep up, even with blogging.  I'm hoping this blog can keep me sane by helping me share what I love, what I know, and what I really want to give into this world.  I hope you guys enjoy my journey!

JUST FINISHED

clockwise: The Body Shop Olive Body Butter, Ole Henriksen Pure Perfection, Ole Henriksen Truth Creme Advanced Hydration and Philosophy Hope in a jar

Happy November!  It's an exciting month to start new beginnings!  Since its the first weekend of November, I hope everyone is enjoying their first Saturday.

I wanted to share with you some products that I've recently finished.   I do have to say Ole Henriksen is one of my favorite skincare brands and I've used and bought almost all of their moisturizing products.  My current favorite has to be Pure Perfection: its nourishing, light weight and it does the job of keeping my skin completely moisturized at night.  If you've never tried their products I highly recommend them.  The great thing about their products is that they do not use parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, and chemicals.  So it treats your skin from inside and out.  My least favorite product was Philosophy's hope is a jar because I did not like the scent and I felt that it didn't keep my skin completely moisturized.

Since the weather is a lot drier, I switched from regular moisturizers to body butters and I think I'm never going back to lotions.  Body butters are just so much more moisturizing and this olive scent is so natural I love smothering this all over my body.

I hope you get to try some of these products out as I loved them during the summer months.  I've switched out to new brands so once I finish those, I'll make sure to post them up.  If you know of any great "organic" body butters or facial products, please let me know!

CRAB POT SEAFOOD IN LONG BEACH

Weekend fun.  Here's another weekend happening with the Kim Clan.  As my birthday passed a few months ago, so did my sister's.  To celebrate we enjoyed lunch at Crab Pot in Long Beach, CA.  If you've never been, I highly recommend you visit because its quite the place to be: delicious seafood, great atmosphere, fun walks on the beach.... its definitely an awesome way to end the heat as we slowly embrace winter. If you've never tried Louisiana style seafood, I would compare Crab Pot to Boiling Crab-excluding all the delicious spices, my favorite being the whole sha-bang!

One thing I've learned from my lunches, outings, and dinners with my family is that family is truly a blessing.  The one thing I wish I can do is to spend more time with my family, especially my mom and my sister because I can hardly recall many cherished moments together. To be quite honest, all of us work all day, spend time with our significant others, spend time with friends... its tough now a days to see people making extra effort to spend more time with their immediate family.

But always remember, family should come first because they are the foundation of who you really are.  Be grateful to the people who brought you into this world and really try to understand them, even though at most times you can't.  By all means, this is probably my own message to myself: be respectful and give all the time you can because one day, you might loose them without doing anything for them...and you'll one day wish you had more time.  Just remember, there's never "more time" for any circumstances whatsoever, you just have to make time for those you love.
