WEST LOS ANGELES FARMERS MARKET

You are what you eat.

Weekend fun- Ryan and I decided to walk over to our closest farmers market- West Los Angeles Farmer's Market to pick up some fresh vegetables. Our favorites picks this time around were fresh strawberries and homemade hummus (in all flavors!)

If you've never been to a farmer's market, I highly suggest that you go.  Its good exercise, (walking around picking your food), and you get your fruits and vegetables at its best: seasonally.  Think about it, supermarkets have vegetables and fruits all year around.  They ship the foods from different states and different countries where food looses its nutrients while traveling.  Food is best in flavor and nutrients when its seasonal, freshly picked, and grown with no pesiticides and preservatives.  Think and eat healthy.

ZARA TRF F/W 2011

Can Zara get any better than this? OMG I'm so obsessed with over-sized knitted sweaters right now, it feels like I get gasmic every time I see them.  (You know, that Zara burgundy knit that everyone has in their closet? Yeah, that one.)  But I also can across this yellow knit and I must say, I really do love it.

I've commented on so many fashion blogger's posts and asked them, what is their must have item?  Everyone agreed.  The must have item this fall/winter: the knitted over-sized sweater! Pair it with colored jeans, a maxi, a skirt, leather pants, boyfriend shorts.. you name it.. it gives your outfit a carefree look, like you just stepped out of the house...its just effortless beauty...

PRETTY MUCH PREPPY

I was so lazy today I didn't feel like dressing up, just because I was going to work for a little bit/run errands/grocery shop, etc... I dressed up a bit preppy?

HYDROBIKING IN LONG BEACH

I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list - Susan Sontag
Summer is almost over but as I look back, I have to say that I enjoyed my summer very much.  If you guys don't know what Groupon is, you HAVE to sign up for their daily deals.  This whole summer, I would have to say that I've purchased at least 6 Groupon activities from that site! (including yoga, food, rocking climbing, etc....)  One of my favorite ones that I personally enjoyed this summer was hydrobiking in Long Beach.  For 1 hour/ $10.00 per person, you get to ride these hydrobikes around Long Beach!

HELMUT LANG F/W 2011

Going back to my obsession with my Harper's Bazaar Special Issue F/W 2011 Magazine, I fell in love with Helmut Lang's Prefall and F/W 2011 showcase.

The collection itself made me go back into loving that chic, black, androgynous, tough look.  I absolutely adore his use of tough lines, hard edges, two toned sheer/opaque patterns upon black and neutral colors.

I think i'm just going to segment my favorite parts of this magazine into my blog.... more upcoming

PORT OF LOS ANGELES LOBSTER FESTIVAL

Like all great travelers, I have seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen -Benjamin Disraeli

This past weekend was so exciting for both Ryan and I because we finally got to go to the Lobster Festival this year!  I've been wanting to go since last year but I never made the time, and now that I've finally gone, I'm  proud to say that I did enjoy my lobster, games, and drinks... However, if anyone wants to check out this event next year, don't buy VIP tickets, Cons: it's way too expensive, Pro: you don't have to wait in line for about 30 minutes for a freakin lobster. Advice: Buy the regular entrance fee and enjoy all the food and kiosks.  The lobster itself was fairly proportional and ventured out to the San Pedro Fish Market.  Overall I loved the atmosphere and the new experience.

DOWNTOWN JEWELRY DISTRICT

Theres something about downtown LA that I just can't get enough of.  The old architecture, busy streets, people walking around everywhere....the city in general is just fascinating...

These pictures were taken a couple months ago, when Ryan and I had to go downtown to Historic/Jewelry District to look at some gold jewelry for his nephew's 1st birthday.  It was so great walking around the hustle and the bustle....

CLUB MONACO x DAZED & CONFUSED

I usually never shop at Club Monaco or even go inside their store, but their recent collaboration with Dazed and Confused is AMAZING!  Their fall icon: 60/70's boho/rebellion chic!  I love their choice of fur, silk, mono colors and floral prints!
