YES I LOVE HEADWRAPS

The turban.  Ferocious, beautiful and at the same time very different, I am in love with these headwraps.  I don't understand how men can hate this type of style, but I absolutely adore it!  With my obsession of color and patterns, the turban incorporates my favorite characteristics into one!

MOCA: LA TRANSMISSION

Happy Friday guys!
Here's another one of my outing posts.  I'm trying very hard to incorporate my lifestyle (weekends) to this blog so everyone can get a glimpse of who I really am.  A lot of my weekends and life in general consist of the boyfriend, great eateries, places to go, art, and anything I find amusing.

Two weeks ago, MOCA was wrapping up their LA Transmission show and just before it left, I had to go visit.  This show was absolutely amazing and I wished it lasted longer! I believe this show was only 2 weeks long and it viewed a lot of artists I've never heard of.

If you haven't checked it out, visit their site for all the info!  http://www.moca.org/

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM, CA.

Happy Friday! Here's one of my latest travel posts.  I've seriously been "deprived" or somewhat "uninspired" by my surroundings and I've fallen into this dark phasing moment... maybe I'm just going through my so called "mid life crisis" episodes...I honestly don't even know what I'm looking for and all I know is that I'm in need of some madd inspiration.  I never been to the Natural History Museum so I thought it would definitely be a great place to get some "animalistic" inspiration.

I have to say it was really a different experience and I recommend everyone visiting.  Right now they do have a show going on where you can see and walk into a space full of butterflies but since I didn't purchase my tickets sooner I couldn't see it.  (It would have been insane to have butterflies fly everywhere around you!) Everything at the museum is lifelike and the dinosaurs are truly breathtaking!

Enough with my short episodic rants.
I do hope everyone enjoys a fabulous weekend!

ITS ALL IN THE HAIR!

Hello and Happy Monday!

Its seriously all about the products you use to have healthy, shiny, awesomeness hair.  I for one love to try new hair and skin products and I've recently changed out a lot of my products for more "natural" products.  Since I am getting older, I've realized that with age, its all about the ingredients that keep you youthful.  These are some of the pre-natural products that I've enjoyed and I hope you enjoy them as well.

Right now, I'm about to finish up on my Aveda Air Control hairspray- which I love because it doesn't have that nasty hairspray smell and its super light weight, so if you want some hold- spray a little, if you want maximum hold- spray a whole lot more.  It also has no flakiness so you can brush through it without having white stuff all over your hair!  I also really enjoyed Aveda's phomollient- it definitely keeps your roots volumed up!

About a month ago, I discovered Conair's rat comb thingy hairbrush that I do love- I'm not a big teaser but when I got to tease- this does the trick! As for my last favorite, I really enjoyed Chi's Keratin Mist.  It by far does the trick- it gives you thicker, smoother, more radiant hair.  My least favorite this time around was Chi's Shine Infusion- it just could have been better for the price, you know?

What are some hair products you guys use?  Any great recommendations???!!! Any vegan or natural products that are you tie for??? Please comment below!

LA TIMES FESTIVAL OF BOOKS 2012

I hope everyone had a fab weekend! I for one tried to get inspired and headed out to LA to check out the LA Times event: Festival of Books.  I have to say, overall the experience was pretty worth it.  I didn't expect the event to be this big, but wow it was frekkin packed with rows and rows of booths, books and people!   Overall, I wished I'd grabbed some cookbooks (vegetarian cookbooks were on the racks for like $5-10 a pop!!!)  Great prices right?

If you've never been, definitely check it out next year! It's held annually and its a great time to sit and relax on the grass while listening to some poetry, enjoy food truck foods and get steals on books!  What's so great about this event is that you get to see a lot of great speakers and you get to explore USC!!

UPDATED SKINCARE ROUTINE- OLE HENRIKSEN

(clockwise: Ole Henriksen pick me up face mist, pure perfection, truth creme advanced hydration)

Here's a little sneak peek of my updated skin care routine.  All my basic night and day products are still the same, however since I ran out of my Kiehls Ultra Cream, Laneige Toner, and Ole Henriksen's Sheer Transformation, I thought I'd try more Ole Henriksen's products because I really, really enjoyed their Three Little Wonders set.

Overall if you guys are sensitive to smell, theses products may not be right for you.  It does have somewhat of a distinctive oak smell but its by no means a disgusting smell.  I mean the product itself is fragrance free so it has no perfumes in it.  But the overall great thing about Ole Henriksen products is that they use natural ingredients and they do not use:  parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs, and Triclosan- things that can overtime affect and damage your skin.

I also changed out my shampoo to tea tree oil and started to look at the ingredients in all my products.  For starters, stop using products with sulfate because it does dry out your hair.  )Aveeno and Loreal came out with sulfate free shampoo's so I highly recommend you guys try it out).  I can't say this enough but, check out the ingredients in all your products and become more knowledgeable with the chemicals/ingredients your putting on your skin/hair.   Your skin is as important as the food you put in your body so stay as close to organic and natural as possible.

To health and beauty!
